PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy): Ultra-clean, weldable, chemically inert plastic
Chemical inertness & purity: excellent resistance to acids/alkalis/solvents with very low metal-ion extractables.
Melt-processable & weldable: unlike PTFE, PFA supports thermoplastic processing and reliable hot welding.
Broad temperature window: dependable performance from about −200 to +260 °C; strong weathering/aging resistance.
Electrical insulation & surface: stable dielectric behavior, low surface energy for anti-fouling and cleanability.
Chemical inert / high purity Melt-processable / weldable ~260 °C continuous Low extractables Electrical insulation
Applications
- Semiconductor wet process (tubing, fittings, valves, tank liners, sight-window frames)
- Chemical & corrosion service (linings, pump components, corrosion-resistant fastener kits)
- Ultra-pure fluids (UPW/acid/alkali piping, sampling components)
- E/E (high-frequency insulators, chemical-resistant insulation parts)
Selection highlights
- PFA: ultra-clean, chemically inert, melt-processable/weldable → ultra-pure piping, tank linings, valve bodies.
- PTFE: lowest friction, maximum inertness (not melt-processable) → gaskets, seals, slide parts.
- PVDF: chemical resistance + better mechanics/cost → chemical & water-treatment piping.
- PEEK: high strength and heat → structural parts in harsh environments.
- PPS: chemical resistance & FR → E/E insulating components.
- PP: lightweight & economical → general, non-critical structures.
