RENY Screws – High-Strength, Lightweight Alternative to Metal

📄【RENY Fasteners FAQ】

RENY Screws FAQ

Q1. What makes RENY screws different from regular engineering plastic screws?
RENY screws are made from polyamide MXD6 reinforced with glass fiber, achieving strength and rigidity close to aluminum alloys and far exceeding standard engineering plastics.
Q2. Can RENY screws truly replace metal screws?
In many static or moderate-load applications, RENY screws can reach strength levels comparable to some aluminum alloys while reducing weight by about 39% compared to aluminum and about 79% compared to steel. At the same time, RENY screws are non-corrosive and electrically insulating, making them an excellent metal-replacement option.
Q3. How strong are RENY screws?
RENY material can reach a tensile strength of up to around 285 MPa, enabling it to withstand higher mechanical stresses than PPS or PEI fasteners.
Q4. What applications are suitable for RENY screws?
They are suitable for electronic modules, electrical/insulation components, automotive interior and exterior parts, precision machinery brackets, and fixtures where weight reduction, non-conductivity, and dimensional stability are required.
Q5. What is the temperature range for RENY screws?
Recommended long-term service temperature is up to about 105°C. Within this range, RENY maintains high strength, dimensional stability, and electrical insulation. For applications above 150°C, PPS or PEEK screws are recommended instead.
Q6. Do RENY screws absorb water and expand like nylon screws?
RENY has significantly lower water absorption than PA6 or PA66 (about 0.14% in 24 hours), features low molding shrinkage (~0.4%), and has a coefficient of thermal expansion closer to metals, which gives it superior dimensional stability compared to typical nylon screws.
Q7. Are RENY screws suitable for electronics and electrical equipment?
Yes. Because RENY combines high mechanical strength with electrical insulation, it helps prevent conduction risks that can occur with metal screws. It is commonly used for electronic module mounting, motor/coil insulation structures, and electrical housings.
Q8. What colors are available for RENY screws?
Standard colors are natural RENY and black, which can be matched to product appearance or used for functional identification.
Q9. What are the advantages of RENY screws in automotive applications?
RENY screws offer high strength, light weight, electrical insulation, and dimensional stability, making them ideal for interior brackets, exterior trims, sensor mounts, and ECU or electronic module fixation. These locations typically experience static or moderate loads below 105°C, which is within RENY’s optimal working range, so RENY can effectively replace metal fasteners and improve system reliability.
Q10. Can RENY screws be used in humid or outdoor environments?
Compared to traditional nylon screws, RENY exhibits much lower moisture-induced expansion, so it can maintain dimensional accuracy and fastening force in humid or outdoor environments, reducing the risk of loosening or deformation.
