Plastic Gears
Product Introduction
Engineering plastic gears offer excellent mechanical performance and can be produced from different engineering plastics to meet requirements such as high-temperature resistance, chemical resistance, wear resistance, and low-noise operation. Compared with metal gears, engineering plastic gears are lighter, generate less operating noise, and provide good self-lubricating and corrosion-resistant properties.
Plastic gears can be used in precision machinery, transmission modules, medical equipment, food-processing machinery, automation systems, and other equipment requiring lightweight construction and quiet operation.
Material Selection
| PTFE Long-Term Service Temperature: -190 to 260°C |
Provides excellent high- and low-temperature resistance with a very low coefficient of friction. It is suitable for gears requiring self-lubrication, chemical resistance, or operation under special temperature conditions. |
|---|---|
| PVDF Long-Term Service Temperature: Approx. 150°C |
Offers good corrosion resistance, weatherability, and electrical insulation. It is suitable for gears used in chemical equipment, medical equipment, food-processing machinery, and humid environments. |
| POM Long-Term Service Temperature: Approx. 100°C |
Provides dimensional stability, wear resistance, and a low coefficient of friction. It is a common plastic gear material for precision drives, office equipment, household appliances, and automation mechanisms. |
| UPE Long-Term Service Temperature: Approx. -150 to 90°C |
Offers excellent wear resistance, impact resistance, and low friction. It is suitable for low-speed or heavy-load transmission parts requiring wear resistance and chemical resistance. |
Final material selection should be evaluated according to gear dimensions, module, rotational speed, load, temperature, chemical environment, and required service life.
